So who is Tom Pidcock?
I’m 17 from Leeds and I ride for PH-MAS, Paul Milnes, Oldfield.
First of all, how does it feel to race in the rainbow jersey?
I guess once you win the jersey it all becomes normal.
It’s been quite a year for you; with an obvious highlight being your recent win at the World Championships. How did you find the race, and do you think the conditions suited you?
It was just stressful and to be honest I don’t really want to think about it because it wasn’t a pleasant experience. The conditions were terrible with most of the course being sheet ice.
Was there any expectation within the team of a British 1,2,3?
No I think all eyes where on me. But at the British champs I mentioned the fact that those two would be my biggest rivals and then for them to get on the podium made a perfect day.
You are rapidly becoming renowned for your bike handling skills and mini Sagan, is he an inspiration behind your celebrations and moves?
I think to a certain extent yes. I ride a bike to have fun, push myself and sometimes show off. So that comes through in how I ride a bike. It’s a personified version of me I guess.
Now the Cross season is drawing to a close, what are your plans targets for the rest of the year?
At the moment I’m just enjoying myself, but I love Roubaix.
There are rumors of yourself being linked with Trek Sagefredo, is this true?
Well I might end up at trek but I not signing for them as a 18 year old 😂
If you could have a super power what would it be?
The first one that came into my head was be able to fly
Favourite film/video game?
Best move/trick on a bike?
360 probably or just dirt jumping
