So who is Scott Davies?
I’m 21 years old and ride for Team Wiggins. I’m from Carmarthen, West Wales.
When did you first get into cycling?
I started cycling properly at age 11, when I got my first road bike as a Christmas gift. I rode with my Dad for a couple of years before joining the local cycling club, Towy Riders.
How is life with Team Wiggins?
Team Wiggins has been fantastic this year. The race programme, equipment and support has so far exceeded my expectations.
We’re fortunate to have great riders and staff. The team dynamic has been really nice.
Who is your least favourite fellow Wiggins rider to bunk up with?
I can’t say there’s anyone I dislike rooming with. But, I always enjoy rooming with Jake Kelly, we were on the Academy together last year and have a similar sense of humour.
Can you tell us about you favourite race so far in your career?
My favourite race is without a doubt the Herald Sun Tour out in Australia. I’ve been fortunate to race it twice, 2014 and 2015.
I’ve done it as a part of an early season Academy trip to Australia. It’s a 5 week trip in February, organised by Keith Lambert.
We tend to do two weeks training, a week on the race, followed by another two weeks of training. Its a fantastic experience and a great foundation to base the remainder of the season upon.
If you could have the same career as any other pro cyclist who would it be?
It would probably either be Bradley Wiggins or Chris Froome. They’ve both had amazing successes at the Grand Tours and Olympic Games. It’s certainly inspiring.
What are your plans for the remainder of the season?
I’m currently en route to the Tour de L’Avenir where I’ll be racing with the U23 National Team.
Big Thanks to Scott for taking the time to chat with us. Look forward to watching you through your career.
